A Youth Ministry Summer (Week One)

It's June, which starts another youth ministry summer. A summer of trips/ retreats/ camps/ events /activities/ etc. Last week was for me week one of the craziness. Last week I was the Camp Speaker for a camp up in Traverse City, MI called "Lake Ann". I was with a program they call "Fresh Start", which is just for upcoming 9th graders. A week specifically designed to help students with their transition from Middle School to High School. This camp is a short wilderness retreat, a very mild version of it. We raft, cook our own food, sleep in tents and have chapel out side. This particular week was a little rough. We had very cold weather as well as lots of rain. Thursday morning we all woke up with water in our tents, we had to have Chapel in a bus due to the sever weather and many got sick due to the cold temperatures. Besides the negatives mentioned we had a great week. I had the privileged of walking the students through the lives of the 12 disciples and show them how Christ took them from average men to extraordinary apostles of Christ. I am so thankful for the opportunity.
